February 12, 2007, the NAACP will celebrate its 98th Anniversary. It will mark an important and glorious milestone in the history of the NAACP.
We want all of our Branches, Chapters and Youth Councils to celebrate the NAACP Anniversary so people all over America will remember the important role the NAACP has played in American History. The Civil Rights Movement and its continued leadership to fight discrimination and improve the social and economic conditions of African American and other minorities.
On 3/1/07 to 4/30/07 we will be having a Membership Drive in honoring this day.
We are asking that all members past and present help with our recruiting campain.
Our strength is in our numbers.
We celebrate our accomplishments in February, Black History Month. Let's continue to celebrate our accomplishments, by being the Branch with the most members
The Texas State NAACP is in the process of finalizing our Legislative Mobilization Day with a tentative date of 2/27/07. We are planning a morning legislative advocacy training followed by a trip to our legislators at the capital and culmimating with a reception hosting Gov. Perry an our African American Legislators. A film an theatrical performance will also be featured during the reception. The state conference will provide a number of rooms for our state conference nembers (details will be provided in another email). Stay tuned for more details in the next few days.
